Challenge
Human life is full of repetition. Some routines are chosen, others are unconscious or simply biological. The challenge was to collect these recurring actions and translate them into a visual system without making the human body and mind appear like a machine.
Approach
Unrealistic Routines looks at habits, bodily functions and recurring tasks across different time scales: seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years. The poster acts as a small reminder that not everything has to be planned, optimised or completed. Sometimes, letting go is also part of being human.
Process
The project began with collecting repetitive actions, thoughts and routines. These were then sorted by rhythm and frequency before being translated into a poster format. The current version is being revised into a more precise and focused edition.
Result
The result is a poster that visualises recurring human routines and unavoidable characteristics. It turns everyday repetition into a structured but slightly absurd overview of what it means to function, remember, forget and continue.
Reflection
The project is a personal note to myself: I am not a machine. It reflects the pressure to do, think, remember and achieve too much at once — and the quiet relief of not having to follow every routine perfectly.
